Bayern Munich’s footballer Michael Olise is prepared to sign a new long-term contract with the club, but with the condition of including a very valuable release clause. This will allow him to maintain control over his career, according to reports from German media today.
Bayern intends to offer Olise an improved contract to retain him at the club until 2032, instead of the current 2029.
Olise’s current salary is 14 million euros per year. The club plans to increase it to over 24 million, putting him on par with Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala.
Despite this lucrative offer, the French player’s representatives remain hesitant. Bild reports that Olise will agree to a new contract with a clause close to 200 million euros to ensure he independently decides on his future.
Olise has had a strong start to the season, contributing to 12 of Bayern’s goals over seven matches.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, a member of Bayern Munich’s Supervisory Board, emphasized that the club’s priority is to reward the player with a new contract.
“Olise is under contract until 2029. At some point, the club will present him with an appropriate offer. He is exceptional in his position,” stated Rummenigge.
This summer, there were speculations about Olise potentially transferring to Real Madrid. The French newspaper L’Équipe reported that the 24-year-old discussed this with his French national teammates Kylian Mbappe and Aurélien Tchouaméni during the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Currently, his contract does not include a release clause, allowing Bayern to prevent his exit this summer.
Both Real Madrid and Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl dismissed the transfer rumors.
